An approval allows for a statutory Director to approve a process, equipment, standard, course or training agency, or an alternative to strict compliance with a specific legislated provision. Section 56 of the OHS Act covers approvals. Please refer to LI030-2TMP for form.
Health and safety programs promote worker and employer cooperation in identifying and solving health and safety concerns at the work site. Health and safety programs also promote awareness of and interest in health and safety.
HSCs and HS representatives help ensure fundamental workers’ rights to know and to participate. For the HSC/HS representatives to effectively fulfill their duties and responsibilities outlined in the legislation, they must receive specific training on their respective roles.
This standard contains the minimum course content for approved Joint Work Site Health and Safety Committee (HSC) and Health and Safety Representative (HS representative) training courses. It was developed to govern training agencies and facilitators in the development and delivery of approved training courses.
